Tips to Explode Your Online Church Growth!

In the wake of the upheaval caused by the COVID 19 Pandemic, businesses and churches all across the country are having to find new ways to remain profitable, while trying to figure out the best ways to reach and interact with their congregations.

POST WITH PURPOSE

Every post is an interaction. It’s an opportunity to reach out to others and let them come in a little closer to the community you are trying to build. I use the word community on purpose. When posting online, don’t make your page just a place for you to promote your organization. Your page is much more than that. Your page should be the place of your personal online community. It is the part that brings the in-person culture of your organization and shares it online to build a greater relationship with those who are already a part of the vision, and because of its culture, draws others into the conversations, and eventually into the vision as well.

Most people are used to using social media, so it will be important to implement a specific plan for the online growth of the community you are creating. In many ways, the online community you build will be stronger and more vibrant than your communal meetings on Sunday and Mid-Week because the online touches will take place all week.

ALWAYS PROVIDE VALUE!

One of the most important things to keep in mind when considering what to post is that whenever you post, REMEMBER You are not posting for yourself! You are posting to add value to the lives of others. You are posting for them. Give them valuable tools they can use to grow their lives and they will automatically become drawn to your mission and message.

When done right and consistently, your online church will quickly become one of the most active parts of your ministry.  If you are a church, post things that will minister to the people that are in your congregation. Let them know you are posting and that your church page is a place they come to for inspiration and active community engagement all week long.

Posting on purpose gives you the ability to keep watering the seeds you planted and helps reinforce the message you are delivering to the people.

Posting Tips Guaranteed       To Grow Your Online Church

  • When you consider your congregation, what are the things that are alike between the majority of them? What advise or information could you give that would help them live better lives with their families, at work, or personally? Once you consider their life, you can post suggestions that will help them achieve their goals. Example: You may want to have a mini campaign about marketplace leadership, or saving for your future. You can have an online cooking competition, the list goes on. You can be funny, serious, prophetic, informational, all at the same time. Ad value to their lives, and keep the conversation going! Before long, your online interactions, will become a purposeful place to visit for many across social media.
  • What are the biggest hindrances to them achieving those goals for their lives and family, personally? Is it lack of finances? Is it family concerns? Be mindful of the fact that people have real life issues and concerns. You can create posts to inspire and uplift, and you can also create posts that are issue focused. Maybe posts on Building Happy Marriages, How to handle Teenage stress. Every post does not have to be a sermon, but the posts can both spiritual and practical. The choice is yours. Allow your sincere concern for their growth guide you in what to post.
  • What are the things they can do to get themselves out of those common issues and concerns they are facing? From the common issues what are some right now answers or scriptures to help them live free? Of course you have to be mindful that your page is primarily a source of spiritual growth. So with any other posts you may put up, you will also have a strong focus on life and ministry. You can post your sermons from Sunday, as well as breaking the sermon up into smaller 15, 30 and 60 sec clips and create some great video posts, and use the scriptures throughout the week to provide encouragement. You can also create graphic word posts from the videos you created. The options are endless, the key is to post, post, post your culture.
  • What does a day in the life of some of your congregation look like? What simple words or information could you give that would be a blessing or encouragement? What type of helpful information can you provide to them. Remember that during this time of COVID, many are shut in and have had to learn how to readjust their lives. Your church could have some of the members put up recipes and show dinners that everyone can talk and comment on.  Remember, the goal is the engagement. Bringing the culture of your church to the masses.

Pick a cause that your entire church or online followers can be a part of and help you gain traction for. Maybe you want to focus on homelessness or support of an overseas mission? Maybe it’s a push to help troubled youth? You name it. Find a cause your people can rally behind, and create graphic or video posts to inspire, encourage, and to draw more people to your cause. Find that issue and give them another reason to attach to the growth of the kingdom.

When you take the time and consider the lives and needs of your people, you will find there are many creative ways and things you can say to grow an exciting and thriving online church.
