How To Turn 100 Sermon Views Into 1000!

Social Media Posts That Keep on Giving

When posting we all have a tendency to judge our success by those infamous and ever-elusive “views”. If we were once getting 10 views most are bursting at the seams when we see those numbers go into the hundreds, thousands, or even millions. But what do they mean? Is there a way to convert those one-time views into continued participants? Or better yet, a way to turn them into active ministry members which will increase your bottom line and open doors for greater avenues of ministry?

I have seen people that have gone viral, and afterward wondered, “What can I do with this burst of interest? How can I make this last and how can I create that buzz again?” When posting online it is important to focus not only on views but the primary goal has to be engagement. How do you engage people so that they are not just a viewer of something you are posting, but become an actively engaged participant in what you are trying to promote?

You frame the outcome of that answer. When people come and visit your post it makes no difference whether it was a viral moment, or they were just searching and something about you made them stop by. Once they get there and you have those few fleeting seconds of attention, do you have a reason for them to stay or a plan for them to follow you so they can return?

When posting online it is important to remember that the primary goal has to be engagement. You can have views and not engagement, but if you have engagement, views are Automatic!

Once you have a reason which prompted a “viewing response”, one of the keys to continued response is “extending the reason”. Simply put, FIND A WAY TO MAKE THE MOMENT LAST. Sermons are a perfect example to make my point.

(The Following Tip is guaranteed to skyrocket your sermon views and explode the growth of your social media channels.)

When you preach a 30 or 60-minute sermon, you can create several different kinds of posts from that one sermon. 1. You can create five or ten shorter 15, 30 or 60-sec video clips of it. 2. You can create video quotes from the memorable things you said, 3. Make graphic quote posts from the same sermon. 4. Create graphic posts from the scriptures you want people to be reminded of. 5. Create quizzes. 6. Create polls again re-emphasizing the important parts of the message. From one sermon you can create 40 or 50 different kinds of posts all focused on the message you preached. 7-10 & Beyond! You can even create a campaign around the subject of your sermon. ex, you preach a sermon or series on Faith, or Walking in Righteousness, you can create a campaign that can last for months or more, with hundreds of great interactive posts.

Remember, the purpose is more than to just post more of yourself, but take out those important snippets that will encourage, uplift and create more of that extending reason for continued interaction. If you extend the reason they came, they will continue to come back because they will be drawn to message that moved them from the beginning.

The Gift of Tracking

The thing that makes social media such a great tool of outreach is that never before has an individual business had the ability to track the results of every interaction. Social media not only gives you a place but it also provides the system to create a community. When you post events online or start a conversation, you can check the results in real-time. You can see what is working and what is not. This is important because it enables you to change your course of direction immediately. When employed and tracked properly, your voice online can become more meaningful, and filled with more and more interactions.

With the algorithms of each platform constantly changing, it will be important to take note of the changes that affect the response you get from your communities. For example, just about all of the social media platforms penalize you if you are doing a bunch of posting and never interacting with others on social media. It is important to make sure you are commenting on other posts you agree with and liking as well.  As long as you are building your personal community online, this interaction should become the norm, and will keep your posts getting in front of the most newsfeeds as possible.

Remember, whatever type of post you create or what direction you have planned for your vision to go, once you look at the analytics behind them, you will be able to make the changes necessary to help you succeed even more.
